The Black Tools 40-ton Big Boy is the Professional choice for use on Hardwoods, this is the master of log splitters. Can be used as both Horizontal and vertical excellent choice for log enthusiasts at a realistic price.

The splitter is powered by a 14 hp 420cc XR200 Briggs and Stratton engine that gives you all the power you will need to split any of the toughest grade timber you want to split.  This is a Log Splitter designed not for light-hearted jobs. With the new key start this makes this model unique to other models on the market.

The log splitter is delivered well-packed and part-assembled on a wooden pallet. You should allow approx. 2 hours for final assembly. Step-by-step assembly instructions in the manual,  and an engine manual that comes with your log splitter. Assembly is not difficult and straight forward. However, in the event that you require any assistance, we are happy to help you, just call us. You will need approx. 28 liters of hydraulic oil to make the device ready before use. Hydraulic oil of classification HLP46 would be ideal and is widely available. In addition, you will also need approx. 1.3 liter of engine oil for the engine. For this purpose, we recommend multi-grade oil 10W40 or 15W40.
