Combined gasification boilers for wood or lignite and pellets or extra light fuel oil (ELFO)
The series of combined boilers ATMOS DC18SP(L), DC25SP(L), DC30SPX(L), DC32SP(L) enable to burn wood on the principle of generator gasification in combination with a burner for pellets (DCxxSP - code: H0048) or extra light fuel oil “ELFO“ (DCxxSPL). The boiler enables changing of fuels heating with wood and full automatic heating with pellets or extra light fuel oil (ELFO) depending on which burner is built into the boiler. If needed there is naturally the option to buy a boiler without a burner and select one later or to use a burner from the last boiler.
The boiler is constructed as a body of three chambers situated one above another. The two upper chambers serve for the gasification of the wood as you are familiar with from the classical gasification boilers that we produce as the standard. In the third lowest chamber is installed the required burner at the front and inlaid by ceramics to ensure the optimal quality of burning. Both the systems are separated by a water surface so that they do not interfere with each other and thanks to that the boiler achieves high efficacy when heating by the individual fuels. The combustion gases exhaustion is handled by one outlet and therefore only one chimney is needed.
The new combined boiler ATMOS C18SP and C25SP enable for ecological burning of lignite and wood as a spare fuel (firing up) on the principle of generator gasifying in combination with pellet burner - code: H0048.
The boiler is constructed as a body of three chambers situated one above another. The two upper chambers serve for the gasification of the lignite as you are familiar with from the classical gasification boilers that we produce as the standard (CxxS(T)). In the third lowest chamber is installed ATMOS A25 pellet burner.

Advatages of ATMOS boilers
- possible combination of the individual types of fuel - fuels changing without modifications in the boiler wood + pellets, wood + ELFO (DCxxSP(X)L), lignite + pellets (CxxSP)
- possible substitution of the individual burners - at any time it is possible to choose a different fuel (pellets/heating oil)
- high effectiveness in the individual fuels - for all practical purposes identical as in the special boilers for pellets or ELFO (up to 92.3% at the nominal output)
- cheaper solution - adding the costs for the purchase of two boilers their installation and flue ducts (chimneys) we find that one boiler though more expensive is more economical
- less built-up area compared to a greater number of boilers
- one chimney and flue duct
- ecological operation in all the versions of heating - boiler class 5 (ČSN EN 303-5), ECODESIGN 2015/1189 (DC25SP, DC30SPX, DC32SP, C18SP, C25SP)
- boiler is equipped with feature of an automatic start-up of the pellet burner when all fuel (wood/lignite) is burnt out
Regulation and control
The operation of the boiler is fully automatic to heat up water to required temperature with high efficiency and in a good quality of burning. All this ensure:
- HONEYWELL draught regulator
- boiler (regulating) thermostat - fan control thermostat
- waste gas thermostat
- pump thermostat
- main switch and changeover switch for boiler operation
DCxxSP and CxxSP boilers and burners in version Model 2018/2019 are equipped with the function of automatic closing or opening of the air supply to the boiler/burner (using the actuator) when hearing with wood or pellets.
The boilers are equipped with an AGF2 flue gas sensor and a KTF20 boiler water temperature sensor for function of automati burner start after the wood burns out. Than the boilers are equipped with two KTF20 sensors (TV and TS) for controlling the burner with two temperatures on the accumulation tank. The whole set is sold in the maximum range, for fully automatic mode and simple plug and play installation.
BELIMO actuator with the air regulating flap

Specified fuel: good quality pellets with 6 – 8 mm diameter, 5 - 25 mm lenght and 16 - 19 MJ.kg-1 caloric power (white pellets).
The burner screen: used to display the current status of the burner and adjusting her functions.
Burner control: with an AC07X (AC07) electronic control unit that controls the operation of the external conveyor, two ignition spirals and the fan in accordance with requirements of the boiler and the heating system. The electronic system is rotected with the safety thermostat of the boiler, safety thermostat at the pellet supply to the burner, the fan speed transducer and the flame sensing photocell. The operation of the burner is indicated on the electronic control display.
Fuel feeding: with an external auger conveyor controlled from electronic regulation of burner.
Ignition of fuel: automatic assisted by two electric ignition spirals.
Basic functions of burner:
The possibility of using two spare outputs R and R2 for various applications
The possibility of the involvement of four different sensors TS, TV, TK a TSV
TS - sensor on the tank bottom
TV - sensor on the tank top
TK - boiler sensor or middle sensor on the tank
TSV - flue gas sensor or solar panel sensor
- burner controlling it in accordance with two temperatures (sensors) on the buffer tank
- control of boiler fan from burner with the help of the auxiliary output
- control of boiler pump from burner with the help of the auxiliary output (R- reserve)
- control of the solar system directly from the burner
- automatic start of the burner after burning of wood for boilers DCxxSP(X) a C18SP
Burners are able to burn only good quality white pellets from soft wood without bark ø 6 - 8 mm, lenght 10 - 25 mm with heating power 16 - 19 MJ.kg-1. Burners are not able to burn pellets with high caking property in the burning chamber. In such case it is needed to clean the burning chamber in period one a day.
For these burners are appropriate conveyors:
- Auger pellet conveyor for burner ATMOS A25 - DA1500 lenght1,5 m and diameter 75 mm
- Auger pellet conveyor for burner ATMOS A25 - DA2000 lenght 2 m and diameter 75 mm
- Auger pellet conveyor for burner ATMOS A25 - DA2500 lenght 2,5 m and diameter 75 mm
- Auger pellet conveyor for burner ATMOS A25 - DA3000 lenght 3 m and diameter 75 mm

Burners extra light fuel oil (ELFO) for boilers DC18SPL, DC25SPL, DC30SPXL, DC32SPL, C18SPL and C25SPL
When burning ELFO you can also use other manufacturers’ burners equipped with an air flap valve operated electrically or hydraulically (e.g. by an electric actuator) which is closed when the electric burner is off. (The reason is that “false air” must not be drawn into the combustion process during wood burning operation). These burners must be approved for operation in the particular country and must comply with all safety and combustion quality requirements effective in the particular country.
Instalation and connection
DCxxSP boiler with standard pellet tank 500 l
Boiler with compact pellet tank AZPD
and pnematic feading APS250S
RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION WITH LADDOMAT 22 AND BUFFER TANK
We recommend installing the boiler with Laddomat 22 or a thermo regulating valve with equalizing vessel 500 – 1, 000 litres. We also recommend installing the boiler with accumulating tanks of appropriate volume (e.g. 2.000 litres), which allow utilising electricity for heat accumulation or connecting solar panels. If necessary, the boiler can be connected into a system without accumulating tanks. This comes into account if you use fuel oil.
